We use to use both SDLT-320 and SDLT-600 tapes (I has one library of each
type of drive). Now, we've upgraded to a single library of LTO-4, and I
have a standalone SDLT-600 drive, for when I need to recover from the old
tapes. Since the SDLT-600 drive will read SDLT-320 tapes, and I'll never
use this drive for writing, only reading, I figured I would be set. But
when I try to do a "scanner -m" on an older SDLT-320 tape, I get:
8936:scanner: scanning sdlt600 tape 1127154055 on
rd=admnman012.wrk.ads.pha.phila.gov:\\.\Tape0
8938:scanner: sdlt600 tape 4089255089 for volume 1127154055 conflicts with
existing
media database entry for sdlt320 tape 4089255089
So somewhere I guess I need to tell Networker to allow this? But where? I
see nothing in the device properties. It seems to think any tape put in
that SDLT-600 drive is an SDLT-600 tape, and that is not the case.
Anyone know how I can do this? It works fine reading the older SDLT-600
tapes ...
