[Networker] Problem with NDMP devices
2007-10-19 14:07:11
If, i misunderstood whether or not drives are attached to the filer or
backup server then i have following to add.
Would you need NDMP Tape server licence applied to the backup server ?
There is a process with which you need to generate ndmp password from the
filer, this method actually generates password on the filer and you don't
set it
( password) like you usually do for an account, if you go back and do it
again then a new password is generated also, use this password where root
account is not advisable.
Also,
Turn on dnmpd debug 70 ( which ever number you like up to 70 i think) and
watch the filer via telnet to check for any errors.
You can also turn on debugging on from the Networker server for further
insight into what the backup server is doing.
Thanks
