I'm not using AlphaStor but at a glance the error messages look like
it thought it loaded tape F12338 into a drive but then couldn't
read the Networker label off the tape...ie:

a.)  Those tapes have physical problem and the label cannot be read.

b.)  A physical drive is off the SAN/SCSI bus and any tape loaded in it
cannot be read.

c.) The physical drive order is scrambled and the jukebox thought it
loaded a tape into drive rmt1 but it really went in rmt2.

It seems confusing with AlphaStor though.  Is the error from your drive
L1 all the time?   I thought in Alphastor/Smartmedia drive L1 could be
/dev/rmt/0 one minute and the next minute drive L1 could end up being 
drive /dev/rmt/2 ??   The AlphaStor logs will say which physical drive
was picked ??
