This sounds like a SCSI driver / kernel problem, try to get an other
kernel or try disabling CDI.
I have one customer running 7.3 on REHL 4U2 kernel -2.6.9-22 (Adaptec
29160/LTO2, CDI enabled)
After upgrading to 2.6.9-34, he a had a similar problem.
