Hi David

I believe that Solaris 10 ships with the 'SUNWqlc' package, which provides
Qlogic HBA support for a number of Qlogic adapters.

In my testing, it's using the Qlogic driver package (QLA2300 v4.17 and
v4.18, in our lab tests) on Solaris 10 SPARC that causes the problem.

The symptoms are that, if QLA2300 is installed, the Legato NetWorker
commands 'inquire', 'jbconfig', 'changers' and 'tapes' no longer work (they
don't find any FC-attached devices). Even 'inquire -l' doesn't work.

When QLA2300 is loaded, the Solaris command 'cfgadm -al' does NOT show the
FC buses. Curiously, 'luxadm probe' does show the FC tape devices.

Removing the QLA2300 and rebooting allows 'inquire' to work (with the
SUNWqlc driver).

Hope this helps.

What problems did you experience before this change?

We recently went through a QLogic upgrade and found that we had to
manually disable the "portmap" service after installation of SANSurfer
to make everything work proper. We are on W2K3 Networker v7.1.3.
