Hi,
Open Tape Format is the structure that allows multiplexed, heterogeneous
data to reside on the same tape.
The clients wrap the data into platform independent data format before
sending it to the storage node. The storage node receives the information
and arranges them into media records or files. These are then stored onto
the tape volumes.
