I have to echo the speed/duplex issue.

Also, what kind of server is it?

We have a machine that has over 7 million files on it, and when it hits
a certain directory, the backup speed drops dramatically, but that's
because it is a disk drive/Microsoft/disk density type of issue. Once
it moves past that directory it is fine. We have started moving some of
our servers to SAN's to increase throughput, and it has improved the
backup immensely.

One other thing to look at is Virus Software - do you have it scanning
Outbound traffic? That would also slow it down. Just another thing to
look at.

Hi,

I have a particular WinXP machine on my network that does
start the backup, but after a little while the speed becomes
ridiculusly slow (a few kb/s) and eventualy idles. The save
fails after some time passes.

Does anyone has seen this before?

Cheers,
Athanasios
