Today's contest: what's the latest kernel version for AS 2.1 that anyone
has a NetWorker Server (7.2.1) running on?

This probably isn't much help to you, but we had to roll our own kernel on
AS 2.1, for two reasons:

- we use QLogic fibre HBAs, and the qla drivers in the 2.4.9.e-* kernels
  are pretty out of date.

- more importantly (for us), the Red Hat 2.4.9.e-* kernels are NOT built
with CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN=y, so having multiple devices on
one target id (but different LUNs) was a problem. There's probably a
way around that issue (other than forcefully probing a particular LUN
manually), but we found it easiest to just build our own kernel with
  multi-lun support enabled.

We've been using the 2.4.30 and now 2.4.31 kernels with the latest qla
drivers and multi-lun support enabled, and haven't had any problems that I
would say are software-related.
