it was mentioned a few weeks ago that 7.3 has an improvement to the data
structure so that retention/browse time is a per-clone attribute.
I currently delete just the clone instance on the read/write adv_file
device... then nsrim or nsrstage -C will clean up the actual disk space
usage later.
It's not so simple though, as you have to make sure the tape clone is a
good one (eg no clflags) before you delete the disk copy. The script I
wrote got to be quite long and involved as a result.

Yes, but as it shows later, you can't set the browse or retention time
of a specific instance. browse/retention is associated with the entire
ssid.

The only way I would think to do this is to set the savesets to the
longer period and then delete the disk volume directly when the shorter
time has expired.
