To provide global control, try

skip: _SWAP_.MEM

In the first line -> i.e. do not specify the << "/" >> scope.

Anyone tried the local directives?

On the Networker for Netware client console, I went in to File | Options |
Local Directives and 'unchecked' the _SWAP_.MEM file (ie don't back this
up).
Saved the local directive, but it still tries to back the file up.

I was only doing this as a global directive of the form...
<< / >>
skip: _SWAP_.MEM

doesn't work either.

You have to specify the particular volume e.g.

<< "TEMP:" >>
skip: _SWAP_.MEM

Cheeers... Allan.
