I know it's possible, I had to watch (or scan) my messages to find out
the nsrjb command being passed to the daemon in order to issue nsrjb
commands on the server.

Hmm, maybe it's strange to answer one's own posting, but I found out
that I can start any command I like if I do that on the storage node.
So is it not possible to control the storage node's JB from the server?
