Hello ,
Caought my attention because we are going to implement DDS as well.
When we are using NDMP and Direct storage Nodes do we need to allocate some
drive to NDMP ?
We always get feed back that recovery GUI is much simple in Veritas than
Legato . Can Legato do something about it ?
Directed recovery from one machine to another machine , is little bit tricky
, you have to set permissions on servers .
You can view and select various version for File but you have to do "change
browse Time" for selecting particular version for Directory .

Subject: [Networker] Directed Recover with DDS
Date: Wed, 7 Jul 2004 19:19:22 +0200
I have the following backup scenario:
The backup server and 7 dedicated storage nodes sharing(DDS) a library
with 4 tape drives connected via fibre channel. Each machine saves its
data on the shared library. The problem is if i want to recover data from
another machine, the other machine loads the tape and sends the data via
lan to the machine requesting the recover. I have tested the "read
hostname" resource from the library, but without success. I think it
should be possible the machine thats makes the directed recover loads the
type directly.
Thanks in advance for any input.
