At home, I have a 269G file system (linux ext3) which I back up. At work,
I have several which approach 1TB, including NTFS, UFS, HFS, and ext2/3.
At work, I have a silo with 4 drives, so I don't have to manually swap
any tapes, which is really the only issue I see with a large file system.

Of course there's the obvious stuff, like put your boxes on Gig-Ethernet,
if at all possible. If not, make sure they're at least at 100
full-duplex. Network throughput will be key, and I have seen where the
backup window exceeds 24 hours, which can be an issue. In that case, you
will want to stagger your backups so the fulls (assuming you do
incrementals) don't all kick off on the same night.

Hope that helps,
Roy
