Hey All,

I wanted to get an idea of what everyone is using out there. I'm
looking to purchase the hardware for a storage node, but I can't decide
what I want/need to get. I'll be driving 5 drives capable of 30MB/s
native and probably around 100 clients to that storage node. Is anyone
using a 2-way box for a configuration about this size? How are you
results? Anyone using a Linux storage node in conjunction with a
Solaris Power Edition Server? Any problems? Anyone using a Linux
server with SAN based drives?

I'd also like to find out what people are using for disk devices? Does
anyone have dedicated disks arrays... other hardware? I currently use a
couple internal drives, but for the long term I'd like to move the
majority of my backups to disk first. So, I'm interested in finding
what hardware people are using for that type of scenario.

Is there a "Recommended Hardware" matrix that Legato puts out?

Thanks,

Joel
