LTO2 is ultrium level 2
ultrium level 3 will do 40-80MB/s 400GB native
ultrium level 4 will do 80-160MB/s 800GB native

I agree about the race, but I'm (currently) backing LTO it generally comes
out earlier with the high speed devices and slightly lags in capacity.
Most importantly with 30-40 IBM LTO drives in fairly heavy use we are
seeing a lot less problems than we got with DLT7000's.
