Re: [Networker] save from a client works, savegrp from the server fails?

Ed,
Server: sun solaris 2.8 on SunFire 280R NetWorker 6.1.3.Build.428
Client: Compaq Tru 64 v5.1 NetWorker 6.1 build 186 client
If I run a savegrp -nIc client from the server, I get:
# savegrp -vnIc client
client:All level=1
03/24/03 11:13:31 AM savegrp: Run up to 32 clients in parallel
03/24/03 11:13:31 AM savegrp: client:probe
started
savefs -s server -c client -g Default -p -n -l full -R -v
03/24/03 11:14:31 AM savegrp: command 'savefs -s server -c client -g Default -p
-n -l full -R -v ' for client client exited with return code 9.
03/24/03 11:14:31 AM savegrp: client:probe succeeded.
* client:All rcmd client, user root: `savefs -s server -c client -g Default -p
-n -l full -R -v'
* client:All accept: Connection timed out
* client:All Connection timed out
* client:All 03/24/03 11:13:31 AM nsrexec: nsrexecd on client is unavailable.
Using rsh instead.
If I run a save -n -s server from the client for one of its
filesystems, the save runs to completion. The nsr daemons are running
on the client, and it can communicate with the server.
Any suggestions on what to look at next would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.
When you run a savegrp from the server, it will try to connect to the nsrexecd
service on the client, and execute the 'save' command there. If this fails
it will try the same thing using 'rsh'.
So it looks like the 'nsrexecd' service isn't running on the client, or isn't
accessible... (firewall/router rules?)
greetings,
Dennis
