Hi Ed,

Have you checked the IP to name resolution on both the Solaris backup server
and the Tru64 server? I'd start by seeing whether the Solaris server is
trying to contact a different IP address to the one that the Compaq machine
really has, hence getting a timeout when the server initiates the backup.

When the Compaq machine starts the backup it goes straight to the correct
backup server address and hence backups work.

Worth a shot?!?
