That's how I do it... and so far I have not had any problems.

I am looking to move all of my indexes from one filesystem to another. I am
hoping that I can do this by moving the /nsr/index directory and contents
and then creating a soft-link to the new location. This would save me from
having to edit the index location of each client and maintain some
consistency.

I would stop all nsr services first and then restart and watch for errors
on the consistency checks.

So, will it work?

Thanks
Bob
