My experience is that SFP's work within a technology family . . . .switches
with the same chips (reguardless of form). I once tried a SFP from a 4gb
switch of a older type in a newer switch and it didn;'t work - didn't hurt
but didn't work.

Hi everyone,
Can SFPs of Brocade switches like SAN80B be used in Brocade FC switch
modules in blades? More specifically, please have a look at the following
IBM features:

-8 Gbps SW SFP Transceiver (FC: 2801) used for SAN24B, 40B, 80B, ...

-Brocade 8 Gb SFP+ Short-wave Optic Transceiver (FC: 5358) used in Brocade
SAN switch modules

Both are 8 Gb, short ware, LC type, and of the same vendor.

Thank you,
Mehdi
