Re: [ADSM-L] Dual interface TSM server

You didn't specify which OS platform. However, most OSes allow you
to associate an IP address with a NIC via command. We do this in our
TSM server startup script. If one NIC fails, you can just
un-associate it from the dead NIC and re-associate with the other
NIC. No impact to users or DNS that way.
On AIX, this would look something like this:
/usr/sbin/chdev -l en0 -a alias4=1.2.3.4,255.255.255.192

Hi ALL,
I have a server that has two interfaces configured (Two IP
addresses as well).
Without using EtherChannel or any redunancy like that, is there a
way to tell the client to use the 2nd interface incase the first one fails.
thanks,
Daad
