I did the search and I couldn't find it Richard. I find it much easier
sending an email to the list than trying to navigate Tivoli/IBM's web site.

Folks, if you wonder if a given circumstance in a current level is a known
defect, you can first go to www.ibm.com and enter search on keywords -
rather
than immediately asking the List membership if anyone has heard of it.
Entering "Invalid format code" turns up APAR IC36566.  Contact TSM Support
to find out when this may be fixed or possible circumventions.
