I'm living the same kind of experience as yours. TSM version 5.1.6.2,
but on AIX platform ! I can use the web GUI, but if I have to push on
"stop" button in my favorite browser for any reason, before getting a
response from TSM server (sometimes have to do it for long SQL queries),
this leaves kind of a "ghost" session that can't be killed, and only
disapears if I recycle the server. I also lived a situation where I had
many of those sessions (approx 30, dunno exactly), and where the server
completely hang : no way to log in anymore, even thru command line
interface, and all processes where hanged too : tapes, scripts, etc ...
Very bad thing :-(
I allready wrote about it on this list, without getting encouraging
response ... But many people here are "old-timers" (not meant to be
offensive for those readers) preferring monastic command line to those
fancy little icons ;-)

I just went to logon to the web admin gui and I make it as far as the
main screen, but I can't do anything and it just sits there saying it is
waiting to download 6 more pictures. Since the tsm server is on os/390
I can go into the jes log and issue commands and see what is going on.
It appears that regular processing is fine. Sessions are
starting/stopping and administrative jobs are completing as well. I
just can't log on through the GUI. Has anyone had this problem? The
tsm server is at level 5.1.6.2. Thanks!
This is what I see when I query sessions for the we admin gui. (I tried
to get on so many times that I have many sessions out there that look
like this. I also tried to cancel them, but they won't end.)
