This could possibly be a problem that's related to the TSM APIs if no LANG
setting is found in the user's profile.

From a command line, enter QSH to enter QSHELL In the user's home directory,

there is a .profile file (use ls .profile in the user's home directory to
see it) Edit this file (it is the same one that has the other environment
variables for Tivoli Storage Manager and Tivoli Data Protection) Add this
line (or its equivalent for other languages):

LANG=/QSYS.LIB/EN_US.LOCALE

Exit QShell and start QShell again for the language setting to take effect.

Let me know if this fixes your problem....
