I would recommend using library sharing with Fibre Channel connections
instead of SCSI. SCSI tends to lend device locking issues when it comes
to dynamically sharing tape drives between systems.

Subject: Library Sharing with 3494
Hi guys and girls,
Please, share your experiences:
one of my customers wants to share a 3494 library with two TSM servers
running on Sun Sparc machines by means of a SCSI bus connection. I was
told
the library drives needs to be wired in a certain way to allow sharing.
How
would I wire the drives and what kind of cables would I need. What else
has
to be considered doing this??
Thanks a lot
Lars
