Hi all,

I'm just going through our TSM config, but here's something I can't figure
out (one of the things actually, but let me try to tackle them one at a
time...).

At 11:30am I've got a schedule running, with this command:

upd stg copypool recl=50

I also have running, at 11:30am, the following command:

upd stg copypool recl=100

This doesn't seem very useful to me because chances are, it will never
complete the reclaim on the copypool, right? I also got a strange space
reclamation running every hour for which I cannot find the schedule. My
guess is, this is some restart / retry of perhaps this one. Just take a look
at actlog output:

What are these volumes? I did a select * from volhistory where
volume_name='volumename' on tapes 9, 24, 25 AND 27 and they all tell me this
(apart from a different volumename and date ofcourse):

DATE_TIME: 2002-03-26 16:44:29.000000
          UNIQUE: 0
            TYPE: STGNEW
   BACKUP_SERIES:
BACKUP_OPERATION:
      VOLUME_SEQ:
        DEVCLASS: 3583CL
     VOLUME_NAME: 000024L1
        LOCATION:
         COMMAND:

STGNEW means 'Specifies only records that contain information about new
sequential access storage volumes.'

So? This is a new tape that it has never used?? Then what's it doing in a
reclaim?! I'm getting very very confused here.

Anyone care to enlighten me? Please?

Tnx!

Regards,

Rick
