ERROR DESCRIPTION:
TSM Clients from 3.7.0 thru 4.1.1 can abend
with core well attempting to restore AIX GPFS filesystems with
the following stack:
signal.pthread_kill(??, ??) at 0xd04c3f9c
signal._p_raise(??) at 0xd04c346c
raise.raise(??) at 0xd0178d0c
abort.abort() at 0xd0172450163f0
psunxthr.psAbort() at 0x100163f00164fc
psunxthr.psTrapHandler() at 0x100164fc
The problem is the result of a TSM coding error which assumes
that GPFS will load its ACL functions. If GPFS is run without
ACL's these functions never get loaded. As a result, TSM makes
a call to a non existent GPFS ACL function during restore
operations that results in an abend. TSM 4.1.2 and higher
clients now check if the GPFS ACL functions are loaded prior to
attempting to call them.
LOCAL FIX:
Upgrade GPFS to version 1.2 (PTF 12 or
higher) or GPFS 1.3, and upgrade the TSM Client to 4.1.2 or higher
