A couple of questions; but first some info. I have a shared 3494 library
with 4 drives, 2 on the ADSM side and 2 on the MVS side. It used to be the
MVS side took the tape as soon as it was inserted into the library. It
doesn't take the tape but ADSM still needs some manual labor to get it
recognized. Now, if I look at the tape with mtlib it is in status 0013. I
have to manually change it to a different status. This is really a pain, and
since I know nothing about how to fix this I thought maybe someone else
would. I'd like the system to act normal on the ADSM side since I'm trying
to use DRM. Anyone have this type of configuration or know what I can have
the MVS guy do to make things work normal.

Speaking of DRM here's my second question. When a tape is in status of vault
it's still possible to see what portion of the tape is reclaimable. I'd like
to recall tapes and insert them into the library and run reclaim to clear
the tape. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get ADSM to see the tape.
After I insert the tape into the library, change the status to 0064, run
checkin libv and update the status to readw ADSM still doesn't see the tape
as part of the offsite_pool so it will reclaim it. Is there a way to do this
also? Until I get my next section of library, 2 more drives and 500 tapes,
I'm trying to clear tapes manually to get a few extra tapes a day, I need
them right now.

Thanks for the help,
