Hi: You can use SQL-BACKTRACK for SYBASE. We use it on the AIX; it is an
interface between SYBASE and ADSM.

What you want to do in Sybase is "dump database." The database does not
have to be shut down nor do all users have to be out. However, we have our
dumps scheduled using Unix cron to backup after hours.
A sybase dump is like a disk image of the entire database. This is what
ADSM should be backing up.
