Hi Winfried..

When you define a device class in ADSM; one of the parameters are MOUNTLIMIT=xx.
This parameter points to the number of drives that you have. If you have two,
then the parameter would be MOUNTLIMIT=2.
It might be that all your drives are occupied at the time of running a
backup/restore.
Type : query mount
This command will tell you which tapes are currently mounted and whether they
are in use or idle. You can probably dismount the idle tapes to free up a mount
point.

  GOD Bless

Subject: Waiting for mount point?

Hi,

when I start a "Q Session" I can see under "media access status" the following
text: "Waiting for mount point in device class PRIMPOOL" (xxx secs)"

Can anybody tell what this msg means?

Thanks and a HAPPY NEW YEAR

Winfried
