Hello Michael. We have a simillar setup.  We are currently on ADSM
3.1.2.20
and AIX 4.3.2.0.  Our database is 10GB and is 75% used.  Our ExpInterval
is
24 but is also ran automatically via a script following the DB backup.
We've
never experienced the problem you're having.  In my "opinion", I would
not want
to upgrade to 3.1.2.40 just to see if it will fix it.  At least not just
yet. Having read
some comments and experiences about 3.1.2.40 from other members, I am
very
hesitant at this point. All of you can jump in any time.
