ADSM-L

Hi,

We are running ADSM Server 3 on AIX. It has been running for 18 months or so
and we have been added 50 or so client systems during the first year. In terms
of numbers and frequency of backups and archives we have been fairly stable
over the last four months. However the ADSM database seems to be growing still
at a rate of about 30 Mb a day. Having read about some of the expiration
problems experienced in earlier versions I upgraded the server to 3.1.2.40 last
week, but I'm still seeing the same growth.

Most of the daily activity is incremental backups with a number of daily
archives taken of some directories with a 40 day retention. As files expire I
presume their entries are removed from the database automatically or have I
missed something in setting the system up ?

Are there any methods to optimise the database and/or determine how much space
each table occupies in it ? Has anyone come across this before ?

Thanks
