My few cents:

We inserted a new stgpool *between* our disk pool and our old tape pool.
Now the new backups/archives are migrated from disk to the new tapes.
And we defined the new tapes as NEXTSTGPOOL for the old pool and used
the migration parms. (After the amount of data was reduced by expiration
processing).

But: with migration processing from tape to tape there is not more than
one migration process. You can use additional move data.
