The other thing you can do when you have to pull a tape manually
from a drive is to put it in the "number 1 slot" before you bring the
library back on-line. This tape slot is in the upper left corner of the
library when you are facing the I/O door. If you notice, when you bring the
library on-line, one of the first things it does is check that slot for a
tape, if it finds one there, it will put it in the correct slot. This saves
you from having to look at the inventory for where it is and perhaps putting
it in the wrong slot.

p.s. I'm not sure if it officially called the "number 1 cell/slot" but that
is what our CE calls it.
