Subject: DRMEDIA problems since upgrade

I am forwarding this on behalf of a fellow ADSM admin:

I (Foolishly) did a "reg lic file=*lic" after I upgraded our
adsm server to v3r1.

As a result, I now get:

01/08/99 07:40:59 ANR0984I Process 607 for EXPIRATION started in the
                   BACKGROUND at 07:40:59.
01/08/99 07:40:59 ANR0811I Inventory client file expiration started as
                   process 607.
01/08/99 08:06:41 ANR2369I Database backup volume and recovery plan file
                   expiration starting under process 607.
01/08/99 08:06:41 ANR6695E EXPIRE INVENTORY: Device class FILE not defined
                   for volume /adsm/dump/29109409.DBB.
01/08/99 08:06:41 ANR0860E Expiration process 607 terminated due to
internal
error: examined 415960 objects, deleting 0 backup
objects, 0 archive objects, 0 DB backup volumes, and 0
recovery plan files. 1 errors were encountered.
when automatic inventory expiration starts up.

Now the file concerned /adsm/dump/29109409.DBB, was a backup to disk
which
was done at least a year ago, hence it's lack of existance.

If I QUERY DRMEDIA, it gives me a couple of pages then:
DSMARC Mountable 05/15/96 14:10:43
ANR6695E QUERY DRMEDIA: Device class FILE not defined for volume
/adsm/dump/29109409.DBB.
ANR2032E QUERY DRMEDIA: Command failed - internal server error detected.
ANS8001I Return code 4.

Simlarly, if I "SELECT * FROM DRMEDIA" I get the same form of error when
it gets to this point:

DSMARC MOUNTABLE 1996-05-15
DBBackup
                                                 14:10:43.000000
ANR2956E Unable to access SQL base table 'DRMEDIA'.
more... (<ENTER> to continue, 'C' to cancel)

                       |
> ..............V......
         select * from drmedia

ANS8001I Return code 26.

So the questions ARE:
        1) How do I remove all the DRMEDIA - we don't even WANT
drm running (it's licenced but not enabled in any
                case)
        2) How do I stop this bloody inventory expiration occuring?

I did a DMSSERV AUDITDB FIX=YES post-upgrade to clear up a truckload
of problems we'd had with media that was empty but wouldn't allow itself
to be deleted (it fixed them so that they could be deleted), so I'm
not too sure that an audit db will restore referential integrity.
I'm almost at the point where I'd like to DELETE FROM DRMEDIA WHERE...
except that's not supported. (And I'm too scared to use the DDELETE
command cos I don't know what it does...
