del arch in batchmode
1998-08-04 10:29:21
Hello,
I have the following problem:
over the years the users of about 70 workstations have archived
some 10000s of files( ~ 1.5 TB), a lot of files even more than once. This was
discovered recently because the costs became too high...
We generated a list of the files archived and are now looking for a
way to delete multiple archives keeping only the youngest.
Interactively this is done by the
de ar -pick <file>
and leaving the youngest.
But with thousands of files this can't be done.
Unfortunately delete arch does not accept the -fromdate & -todate options
as query arch does.
Does someone have an idea how to delete duplicate archive files in
batch mode keeping the youngest?
regards
Axel Geyer
