Hi Andy,
I just put the 3.1.0.3 client on and backed up a new file, tried restoring
again (to a drive mapped to a Win NT server) and had the same error. As
far as the sequence, I go into the GUI, click Restore, click on the + in
front of my nodename, click on the + in front of the C: drive, select any
file, click Restore, click Following location, click Select, click the
arrow by the C: drive, select a mapped NT drive, click OK, click Restore.
I tried it again to a mapped OS/2 drive, same error. The command line
works just fine, like this:
 DSMC RES C:\JULIE U:\
I've called this one in, too.
Thanks!
Julie

Hi Julie,

Have you tried the 3.1.0.3 client? This is what I have installed on my
machine,
and I can not recreate this problem. I tried backing up files on both local
and
network drives, then restoring them to the network drive. Can you recreate
this
by backing up some new files, then trying to restore them to a network
drive?
If so, please let me know the exact, detailed procedure you are following.
Also, what kind of network drive is this (i.e. OS/2, NT, NetWare, etc., and
what is the file system type)?

Best regards,

Andy

Our Windows 95 and Windows NT clients are having trouble with the GUI
interface. If we try to restore to a network-mapped drive, it says FILE
ALREADY EXISTS, REPLACE? (and it does not already exist)
Then if we say, yes, replace, it says FILE IS READ ONLY, FORCE OVERWRITE?
and if we say yes, it just keeps popping up that message or it abends the
GUI.
Works at the command line though... anyone seen this with this latest WIN
client, and the latest server code?
Thanks,
Julie
