We have the same problem too. Yesterday I set the maximum size file of the
storage pool (disk) to 1 byte (files are directly backuped on tape and not
on disk first) and after that the scheduled backup was successful.

Yes, I see it too. I think it may have to do with the server estimating
the capacity needed to store the file on whatever tape gets mounted. The
mount is usually issued as a result of the file exceeding the maxsize
setting on the primary storage pool (usually your disk pool).
