Getting ADSM to recognise 3590 problem
1998-06-07 03:19:21
Hi,
I am new to ADSM and I have a problem getting ADSMv3r1m1f1 to work with
3590. When I issue the command
"define library 3590lib libtype=scsi device=/dev/rmt0.smc"
I get an error
"A11R8418E DEFINE LIBRARY: An i/o error occured while accessing library
3590LIB A11S8001|Return code 3"
The strange thing is, there should be a /dev/rmt0.smc file once you
"cfgmgr -v" to connect to RS6k. But it's not there, except rmt0 and a bunch
of rmt0.x files. Normal tar and tapeutils read/write test and everything
else works fine. I suspect if could be a 3590 microcode problem. Has
anybody got a solution to this problem? Where can I download the latest 3590
microcode? (IBM (Malaysia) is not a good option, they will charge a jumbojet
for every strand of nose hair you pluck from them))
Thanks in advance.
