Thus far, a number of months now, my server administrator has not been
able to get our large database (DB2/6000; or large filesystem) backups
to work.
The backup job I ran for the sniffer trace test - that according to the
ADSM log didn't have any problem - failed with the same error message as
virtually every time before:
Tue Nov 5 20:00:03 PST 1996
starlight> db2 BACKUP DATABASE u990 USER u990db using use ADSM open 2
sessions with 2 buffers without prompting
SQL2025N An I/O error "-50" occurred on media "ADSM".
Also the backup of the filesystem on starbright that I was performing
Tuesday also failed after many hours of backup effort:
starbright> dsmc incremental -DOMain="/ /usr /var /edsdev /home /space"
-verbose
