     Hello fellow IBM ADSM flaglettes

We have been having no luck getting around our inability to backup our
large databases (@3.8GB) using TCP/IP. We can backup our filesystems
since each failure occurred after more files were successfully
backed-up eventually all files were backed-up and now the incremental
backups are working. However, to try to get around the problem with
our database backup failing (after 7 hours I might add) we are trying
to reconfigure to use SNA (which 'should' net us something like a 60%
performance improvement since our SNA is via a 16MBT TR network).

When configuring ADSM to use SNA we don't know what our
SYMbolicdestination name is so we must enter the CPIPMOdename and
TPname which we also don't know so we are enquiring if anyone else has
successfully configured ADSM to use SNA and what the values they used
were and how (if at all) they related to their SNA configuration.

We have a session established between the RISC and the ADSM APPLID but
it is probably not setup correctly since we don't know these other
     paramters (above).

For DB2 LU6.2 communication the TPNAME is given by IBM as is the MODE
(which is not necessarily the same as a CPICMOdename).

     Regards,
