Compression under Windows 3.1
1996-01-19 11:24:52
I tried to send this message from another ID, but as far as I can tell
the message didn't make it to the list. My apologies if this is a
duplicate.
Using the ADSM administrative client, I just verified that my node is set
to:
Compression Client's choice
and my options file specifies "compression yes". Yet there is no record of
compression in my scheduler log, and none in the backup-restore client's
statistics either. I know I used to get a report of compression on an old
Dos client, and I think I used to on earlier Windows clients as well. Does
the newest Windows client just not report compression, or is there
something still wrong with my setup? Many thanks for any info.
Here is my options file, with some values blanked out for paranoid
security:
COMMmethod TCPIP
TCPServeraddress ...
TCPPort ...
compression yes
domain c:
errorlogretention 1
NODEname ...
Exclude ?:\...\*.SWP
Exclude ?:\...\*.par
exclude c:\io.sys
exclude c:\msdos.sys
exclude c:\...\*.log
