yes all of these article discuss binding the ITM6
communications to a single interface. The unix log, unix OS and universal agent
all behave this way. HOWEVER, it is the SNMP port 162 communications that need
to flow over the virtual interface - and none of these articles specifically
addresses that. It is possible I have it configured correctly and it's just not
working. (I'm almost to PMR land)
Seriously, if someone has set up netview in an AIX 5.3
HACMP environment - do you have your trap senders sending to the HA virtual
address or the physical?

interface
There are a few forum
posts floating around on how to do it. You need to bind your agent to the
correct hostname/IP

interface
ITM6 / FP04 / IF09 on
AIX 5.3
Greetings NetView
gurus. Has anyone configured NetView (or anything else with a trap reciever)
in an HACMP environment under AIX 5.3? (sounds probable).
If so, can you tell me
if something special is required to get the trap receiver to listen on the
virtual address of the server? I can get it to receive on the physical address
for the active side of the cluster - mind you I am using the ITM6 SNMP trap
receiver but in general Tivoli guys are clueless about SNMP traps. I'm
guessing this is an OS thing and not a product issue so I was hoping someone
with Netview experience might have a clue.
Sorry to interrupt your
regularly scheduled conversation :)
