Please note you cannot simply tar up your 6.0.3 databases and move them to an existing 7.1.3 Server.

I think this topic has been discussed at length previously so you may want to search the archivse. I will just point you in the general direction:
1. Backup your current 6.0.3 installation using the NetView Smit panel, "Backup Selective Data" which will create a /usr/OV.back.v6r0 directory.
2. Move that entire directory over to the /usr directory of your 7.1.3 Server
3. Then you need to perform an actual 7.1.3 migration using the "nvinstal -k SERVER -u" command (from the 7.1.3 CD) and the 6.0.3 databases will be pulled from the /usr/OV/back.v6r0 directory and converted to 7.1.3 format. Your other configuration files should be pulled in from the /usr/OV.back.v6r0 directory also.
4. If you are still using NetView with the Framework, you can perform the migration via the Tivoli Desktop. Note that the options presented in the install window of the Tivoli Desktop will show 7.1.2 Update. This is a typo and should read 7.1.3 Update. If its a 7.1.3 CD, then the update will be to 7.1.3 regardless of the fact that it says 7.1.2.

Hi List,
I currently have an AIX 4.3.3  Netview 6.0.3 running in
production and have an AIX5.1 with 7.1.3 in development.  My questions is,
how do I migrate my customized 6.0.3 production box to my 7.1.3 development
box. Basically from one server to another... Can someone point me to a
manual or documentation that will explain the process and what files to
migrate?

Regards,
Dave
