You don't say what architecture your NetView is on here but I assume Unix? I think you will find the tec adapter configuration file is actually in /usr/OV/conf/tecint.conf. That said, the BufEvtPath line you describe should indeed buffer events in /tmp/netview.cache whenever your TEC Server is down.

A couple of points. After editing the tecint.conf, you should run "nvtecia -reload" to make the TEC adapter re-read your config file. After a TEC Server outage, when TEC comes back, you often don't get events flowing from the cache file immediately - it often needs a new event being generated to "kick start" the emptyting of the cache (you could generate a dummy message with the the "event" command, if necessary).

Cheers,
Jane

Hi all:

Supposing we have an integration Netview-TEC environment.

If we add the following lines to the configuration integration file
/opt/OV/conf/tecint.conf:

BufEvtPath=/tmp/netview_tec.cache
BufEvtMaxSize=200

And stop TEC.

All generated Netview-Event by Netview is cached in the file
/tmp/netview_tec.cache until TEC is up
or by the contrary any generated Netview-Event during a TEC-Stop period is
lost??

Thanks in advance:

José María
