so if i understand, after copying Netview 7.1 (with the backup utility of
netview),
the only installation i will make is the upgrade install of Netview 7.1.3 ?

(i do not need then to install Netview 7.1 before, copying the backup and
after install netview 7.1.3 (upgrade option)

can you confirm me that ?

Thanks

Dominic,

It is NOT recommended that you simply copy of /usr/OV because a NetView
install validates that the OS prereqs are there and also updates various
system files ( /etc/services...etc). If you are trying to replicate your
NetView customization. Then do a backup (using NetView services). Copy
the backup directory to your new system and do a product install. The
install will see your backup data and migrate that into the new server for
you as part of the install.
