William, your best bet is either not manage or not discover these PC's - not
only will it eliminate the node/interface down/up traps but it would also
save a lot of overhead on your NetView server. If you want the PC's to be
discovered (show up on your maps) but not be managed edit the
/usr/OV/conf/oid_to_type. If you prefer that they not be discovered at all
(not even show up on the maps) then use a seedfile. Since you have
consistency in the last octet this would be a breeze - just specify
"*.*.*.1-49" in your seedfile and only nodes with the last octet greater
than 50 would be discovered. Let us know if you need details on how to do
either of these. Sorry, neither option is retrtoactive so you will have to
either manually unmanage/delete already discovered nodes or rediscover you
network.
