I can drill down in the BAR GUI, after getting the password issue and other things solved

 

Now the supporter tells me that you can't do single document restore under shared services, so now I regard the MOSS agent as not working. Can't do single document restore and can't restore the content db to another environment, the last thing we can do with SQL dumps of the database.

I agree totally.  It's been very poorly implemented/tested.

Like I said I haven't got to the restore yet, so I couldn't say if it works yet.  I'll let you know as soon as I've tested it.

One thing I'd like to ask you.  When you browse for backups via the BAR GUI on the client, can you see the Sharepoint objects/components to backup and can you drill down on them?  I have a problem at the moment in that although I can backup the objects, I can't browse to back them up at the client level.  It would be interesting to know if you had the same problem.  Symantec said it's because of some .NET component?!
