Hi Jonathan , what
version of NBU were you using ? According to the docs on what’s new in
6.5.2 it says :-
Connect
using port number
Unless the port number was
changed on the VMware server, no port
specification is required. If
the Connect
using port number box is
checked,
deselect it. VMware
Consolidated Backup software determines the
port.

VM server Info
I got a similar error
and had to call Symantec for support. Are you looking for a VM Host or the
Virtual
Center? If you are
pointing to the Virtual Center you have to change the port under
Credentials à Virtuaql Machine
Servers to port 443 to connect. The default 902 is only for communication
with virtual hosts. It’s kind of silly, but I couldn’t find this
documented anywhere either.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] VCB - Fail to get VM
server Info
Hi , Hope someone out there can help
me !! Trying to configure VCB for the first time and getting some problems.
We’re running 6.5.2 , master is on AIX , the VCB is 1.1 on a windows media
server W2k3 R2 enterprise x64. We’ve got the VCB bit working now but the problem
is with Netbackup . I’ve put the VC server in the credentials and defined
the VCB server on the master, but when creating a policy , I get problems
selecting a client. Tried upping the time outs as per a technote on support but
still get a fail when trying to browse virtual machines – Failed to get VM
server Info list : (419430400) tried searching on that
number but not finding anything – anyone have any
suggestions?
TIA
