The solution I found with the help of veritas was to disable checkpoints. I
was told it was a problem with NB 6.0 through MP3, I havent tried turning it
back on with MP4 even though They claimed it would be fixed in MP4. I just
don't want to have all my backups failing again on my windows servers.

Thanks for the input Paul.

Maybe I should specify the problem I have, a whole bunch on windows servers I
have recently added fail with 156's, however I have double checked that VSP_Use
= NO so am at my wits end as to why they would be failing with anything related
to snapshot's.

if anyone has come across this or could point me in the right direction it
would be much appreciated, the only difference with these policies is that we
have started to use checkpoint as a few of them are in the TB arena.

Regards

Dave Clooney

In other words, I don't believe checkpoints will work unless you have a
fragment size specified. Even then, if your fragment size is large compared to
the amount of data on the client you're backing up, then it may not be
worthwhile.

I don't know a whole lot of detail about them, other than that.

        Hi,

Can anyone give a brief explanation of exactly what goes on when
checkpoint's are implemented on normal backup schedules. Understand what they
do but need to know what is going on in the background.

        Cheers

        Dave
