It should requeue immediately, if you have retries set greater than 1.

if you have something configured, like 1 try per 1 hour, then it will
try once, then wait any hour before trying again, and retry over and
over as long as the backup window is open.
if you have 2 per 4 hours, it will try once, fail, requeue immediately,
fail, then wait 4 hours, and try twice back to back again, repeat,
untill backup window closes.

Host Properties -> Master Server -> <your master> -> properties ->
Global Attributes -> Schedule backup attempts -> x tries per y hours.
